Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Mask

I picked up a sample of one of Lush's fresh masks - Catastrophe Cosmetic a full pot costs £5.75 for 75g but they give away samples with no hassle so its always nice to try before you buy, especially when it comes to skin care because you don't want anything to make it worse!
With the Lush fresh masks you need to keep them in the fridge and use them up within two weeks.

"When disaster looms, Catastrophe cosmetic calms and cleanses the skin", "leaves your face cool, clear and calm" so perfect for me who suffers from break outs

Irish Moss - to soften the skin
Fresh Blueberries - full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Almond Oil to moisturise and leave your skin feeling supple
Rose Absolute
Chamomile essential oil - will both reduce redness and irritation
Calamine Powder and talc to deep cleanse your skin

I put this in the fridge when I got home then took it out before I was going to use it, it was very cooling when it went onto the skin and has an pleasant blueberry- rose smell. It has little bits of blueberry in it so that makes it a bit hard to smooth onto the skin easily, I used my hands for this. I didn't find it really easy but then again this is the first real face mask I've ever tried so I really do need to compare it to others. I left it on for about 15 mins and it went hard and began to flake off so I had to stand over my sink to not cause any mess!
I used a flannel and warm water to wash it off my face and gentle exfoliating the skin, which did take a while but its nice to spend some time on these kinda things every so often

A gorgeous photo of the mask in action..

I have to be honest and say I didn't notice any difference. My skin did feel a bit softer but I didn't see a reduction in redness, or my spots. Maybe this would only be the case with continued use and the sample is only enough for 1 time.
Overall I am happy I tried it but glad I didn't pay for it, however this does make me very open to try some other of Lush's mask such as Mask Of Magnaminty which is also aim specifically for people with spots. My problem is I don't have oily skin, but I do suffer from break out so its difficult to find products that dont just end up drying my whole face out..

If anyone has any suggestions of Lush skin care for me to try (I'm also thinking of Grease Lightning) then let me know, or also any other products suitable for my skin type :)

May GlossyBox

This was my first ever Glossybox and also their 1 year anniversary!
I was very excited for this box and had quite high hopes seeing as it was a special occasion for them. There are a few beauty boxes on the market and after looking into each one, I decided that I would subscribe to Glossybox as I felt it was the most consistent with products what I would be likely to use.

Lotita Lempicka Perfume Samples - Original and L'Eau en Blanc

These are both very unusual perfumes and I don't normally like perfume testers but its nice to have these little spray ones to put in your handbag, especially when the weather is so hot, just to freshen up.
Original - 'An enchanting floral, clear and sensual, and heady nectar of liquorice flower'
L'Eau en Blanc - 'A bouquet of white violets with a hint of raspberry and musk' I think this one smells more fresh and summery.

Collection 2000 - Lasting colour, Gel eyeliner
I like gel eyeliners so I was excited to see this in my box. It looks really wet and shiny when in the pot but it dries quite matte. I would say that it does smudge a bit which is something thats really important to me with an eyeliner, but i'll keep trying it out to see how I get on..

HD Brows - Brow Beater

This is a clear setting gel for your eye brows, I've recently got into filling in my eyebrows - they don't need much as they have a decent shape and are quite dark but I think its nice to add some structure to your face, especially when you're going out. So this is gonna be helpful to set them, it has a nice applicator like a mascara want but curve in an arch and it doesn't leave your brows feeling sticky or stiff. Thumbs up from me! :)

Noble Isle - Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel
This is from a new brand and its nice to have a nice summery fragrance to help wake me up in the mornings or freshen me up later in the day. It smells very citrusy and contains elderflower and gooseberry!

Weleda - Face cream
Well I assume its the face cream but as there is no translation I'm not actually sure.. A little goes a long way and its a very soothing hydrating cream which smells really nice.. sort of like lavender!

Thats it! Happy Birthday GlossyBox!
Did you receive this months glossy box? What were your favourite items?

I just joined a co-buy for bumble and bumble surf spray!
I've been wanting to try this for ages but couldn't really justify the price.. until BuyaPowa! I have heard some negative things about BuyaPowa but everything I have received from them has been really high quality and I'm pleased with it all..
I'm hoping it will make my hair as beachy and effortless as these beauties..

Am I the only one who craves for hair like this? If you also want this, you can join the co-buy here :

Marmite Cheese Twists

So yummy!

I know some people will hate the idea of this (so you can just ignore the marmite part) but me, I absolutely adore marmite!

You will need: (Made 12- I didn't measure anything its just a game of guess and you can use as much or as little as you like!)
- Puff pastry, I bought this ready rolled from Sainsburys or you can get JusRol version, its all the same
- Marmite
- Cheese
- Baking Tray
- Grease proof paper (might come with your puff pastry-mine did)
- Rolling pin (or if you're a student like me- some kind of vodka/wine bottle ha!)
- A knife
- Scissors
- Oven preheat to 180c

1) Firstly unroll the puff pastry onto a flat surface and keep it on the grease proof paper and spread it with an even layer of marmite, you can use as much or as little as you like.

2) Then sprinkle with a nice layer of cheese and fold in half..
3) Using your rolling pin, roll this as much as you can so it is almost the original size again

Such a classy student haha!
4) Sprinkle with more cheese and push it into the surface of the pastry
5) Cut 2-3cm strips and twist them carefully

6) Put onto grease proof paper on a baking tray in the oven for 10 mins, or until golden brown

These will be accompanying me to the library this week, I'm sure they won't last long! haha
Let me know if you try this recipe

Mumma I'm Gonna Sing..

Ive been wanting a maxi skirt for a long time and I saw this one in New Look back at home, but they didn't have my size so I had to wait till I could get to the one here at uni and yesterday finally I bought two! There were only £14.99 which I thought was a little bargain :)

I got a black and a peachy/nude colour (described as biscuit), which I thought would be nice for summer but I have plans to tie dye it.. not sure what colours yet.. maybe light blue & purple or ombre effect?

I love a good old tie dye look, my inner hippie loves to come out in the summer and i think its a great way to make something unique and its so easy as well! Here is some of my inspiration:

Inspiration from Lavish Alice, Topshop, IndigoThrift, Dorothy Perkins and UO

Song of the week: Muma I'm gonna sing - EJ such a nice feel good song :)

Essie Polish

Shock! This won't be anything new to your ears (or eyes.. as you're reading) but when I saw Essie in Boots I had to pick some up! They are my favourite nail polishes, I think their shade range is amazing, and they cost £7.99, so not bad - especially in comparison to OPI or Nails Inc.

I got 2 nice summery colours, and 1 year long round neutral as I love a good neutral nail! :)
from left to right: Turquoise and Caicos (which I think is my fave!) Master Plan and Tarte Deco

I've already put Tarte Deco on my toes as I'm craving it to be summer and to get my feet out in sandals..
Sadly i've got exams before then so I best go and get on with revising for them :( Reading blogs is so much more fun!
