Whats in my everyday make up bag/box?

I actually keep all my everyday make up in this box which I keep on my dressing table. Its Emma Bridgewater hearts and flowers and I actually got it from Ark Cambridge which is a lovely little shop.

So here is a sneak peak into the make up I store in it, and its what I wear most days if its just a normal day. I do have more make up, stored in another box which is for nights out or more experimental looks. I also like to switch around this make up so I actually use all my products up.

MAC Face and Body Foundation in N2 - this is my everyday foundation and I love it, it provides light coverage and evens your skin tone perfectly. It doesn't cover blemished but i prefer to use a stronger concealer where I need it rather than a full coverage foundation all over.

Benefit Boi-ing in number 2 - this is an amazing concealer and its perfect for blemishes as it really covers them, and stays most of the day.

Clinique Airbrush concealer in 04 neutral fair - I personally prefer this to the YSL equivalent, it has better coverage and less highlighting. Saying that,  its still is a brightening concealer, amazing for dark circle under the eyes days.

YSL Touche ├ęclat (not sure of the colour) - not much more to say, i use this more in the summer and on my cheek bones as a highlighter.

MAC Select cover up NW20 - this is an all rounder concealer, perfect for taking on the go - not too cakey under the eyes yet enough coverage for blemishes.

Lily Lolo Mineral foundation sample/ In the buff - This is a sample size as I'd always wanted to try a mineral foundation, I really love it! Maybe I'll invest in the full size at some point but its such a great service to be able to order samples to find a perfect colour match.

Nars blush in Luster - this is an amazing 1 step blush if you're feeling lazy, its an apricot colour which provides a bronzed/blushed cheek as well as a highlight due to the slight shimmer in it. It compliments my skin tone perfectly.

Bourjois bronzing powder - this apparently smells like chocolate, im not sure but it does smell nice. I either use this to contour or as an all over bronzer to give me a healthy glow.

MAC sheertone blush in Peaches - i've practically used this everyday since I got it for my birthday and it still looks like it has never been touched! well worth the price tag

Mascaras - Clinique high impact and Revlon Grow Luscious plumping - Revlon is fairly new but i'm loving it.

Eye liners - I have L'Oreal Super Liner and Super Liner perfect slim. I tend to use the slim one for a super quick look as its the easiest to apply. And I used the normal super liner for nights out or long days as it lasts sooo well and is super black.
Slia smudgestick in Damsel - its a really dark brown which stays put amazingly, i never used to like pencil eye liner as they would smudge but this is so good!
I also like to use a black eye shadow with a wet brush as an eye liner and I've been loving Bourjois intense extrait 10 which is such a deep black.

HD brows brow beater - this is just an eye brow setting gel which I use when I clip my fringe back

Nuxe Reve de miel lip balm. This is a gorgeous smelling lip balm that is really hydrating, I have dry lips so this is an essential for me

No7 Perfect Lips Pencil in Nude - the most gorgeous everyday colour.

As you can tell I love a peachy pink lip for everyday - currently I have;
MUA Nectar shade 16
MAC Shy Girl
Revlon Smoked Peach

MAC So Chaud

My newest addition to my lipstick collection comes in the form of MAC So Chaud. An amazing orangy red, it is very similar to Lady Danger which leans slightly redder. I feel it is not talked about in blogs etc. as much as lady danger, but I feel it deserves a lot of credit. I actually discovered it through Rhiannon of FashionRocksMySocks, check out her blog and her youtube!

So Chaud is a matte finish, but I don't find it to be drying on the lips at all. I like to apply it using a Real Techniques detailer brush (part of the core collection) as I feel it gives an even colour and it helps to really push the colour into the lips which is important when wearing a bold lip so that is doesn't stray all round your mouth. I tend to touch up on the go straight from the bullet but blending using my ring finger. I find that it lasts so well and you can easily go out shopping for the day without touching it up, I just love it to be an intense colour so I like to top up every now and then, especially after eating.

MAC lipsticks have recently upped in price to £14! Which is crazy, but there will always be people who buy them due to the amazing colour range and vast selection of formulas.

This is my favourite outfit for this lipstick:
Maxi skirt-  Zara, cropped top - ASOS, big necklace - Topshop, Hamsa hand necklace - Kukee

What is your favourite MAC lipstick shade? Have you got So Chaud?

Red Lips

I love a red lippy me, and just to prove it, i've done a post sharing my red lipsticks with you..
Revlon in Romantic, 17 by Jonanthan Saunders, MAC Ruby Woo, MAC So Chaud
My first ever red lipstick was picked up on a whim when I was about 15 and I never wore it for years! Then that is what got me into it, when I got older and gained more confidence.. so left-right here goes!

All swatches below!

Revlon Balm Stain - Romantic (£7.99)
This is my most sheer option and even though it does look quite orange it can be built up to be a nice strong red but its amazing for those of you just starting out as its not very scary.
It applies a really sheer balmy wash of colour and then stains your lips with a tinge of red. Lovely day colour.

17 By Johnathan Saunders (price unknown)
This is my older red lipstick - infact my older lipstick in general. It was in a limited edition range from 17 at Boots and it doesn't even have a name or number. I love love the colour of this but the formula is a bit of a nightmare as it likes to stray all around your mouth. I typically wear this pushed into my lips and then with a lipstick sealer such as lipcote (my red lips-night out saviour)

MAC Ruby Woo (£14)
This is a blue toned matte lipstick which is wonderful deep colour. I see it as quite a retro red and it gives a lovely colour, great for autumn/winter. I tend to apply this with a lipstick brush. However it can be a bit drying so make sure your lips are nicely moisturised.

MAC So Chaud (£14)
This is my most recent purchase and probably my favourite red lipstick of the moment. Its orange toned which I feel looks really nice with my skin tone. This is also a matte but not a drying as ruby woo. I really like this as a summer red.

Topshop Rio Rio, MUA in shade 13,  NYX in Amsterdam

Topshop Rio Rio (£8)
A true pilar box red. I think the formula of Topshop lipsticks is really nice for the price, they are nice and creamy and stay for a long time. I would like to get a few more of their colours.

MUA in shade 13 (£1)
For the price, you cannot really go wrong here! Available in Superdrug MUA have a wonderful selection of everything especially eyeshaddow pallettes and lipsticks.  This again is a bluey toned, its really nice formula which goes on effortlessly.

NYX soft matte lip cream in Amsterdam (£5.99)
NYX products are hard to get hold of in the UK but I got this from a River Island boutique store. I know you can also get them from Ebay. I was pretty excited as I'd heard good things about these. They are a very unique formula as they apply very creamy and wet but they dry to a nice rich matte colour. This is the most intense red I have and it lasts so well on the lips.
